Introduction: several studies identify the lack of knowledge and time as one of the barriers to implement research results in clinical practice. The use of information and communication technologies might be a solution to these problems. Objective: to evaluate the scope and reach of neonatology “Cuidando neonatos” blog content related to evidence-based care.
Material and method: cross-sectoral descriptive study. The tools used were Google Analytics and the Blogger directory.
Results: the 645,249 pages were viewed from 12 November 2014 to 12 September 2018 during 155,874 sessions. The highest number of views originated from Spain and Mexico. From 144 posts published, 26 were related to evidence-based care. The most viewed entry was: “RCP neonatal ¿Repasamos conceptos claves?”, with 13 649 views.
Conclusions: the scope of the contents published on Cuidando neonatos and disseminated via social networks confirm that the blog is an effective tool that facilitates the implementation of evidence-based health care in neonatology.
