Abstract

In recent years, the exhibition of adolescents subjected to punishment by their parents by cutting or shaving their hair has proliferated on social networks. Three clinical cases of underage patients in this context are presented, one of them resulting in a suicide attempt. Said interventions on the minor's image, with punitive or corrective intent, must definitely acquire the social and institutional recognition of child and adolescent abuse. Early detection by pediatric health professionals is a priority; in addition to training in effective parental educational skills that promote the primary prevention of this culturally deeply rooted social dystopia.
