Abstract

This paper presents an up to date on food legislation. It is divided in four chapters: nutrition labelling, advertising, food marketing in schools and internet marketing. The European legislation establishes the general lines and the objectives in our country. Each member state has to determine the regulations and care for its accomplishment. Selfregulatory organisations and consumer associations are of great importance in the control of advertising in communication media due to their more dynamic structure than legislation.
