Abstract

Renal lithiasis incidence has increased in recent decades, being one of the main causes the changes of eating paterns. Recurrence of the disease is very frequent if the causes are not diagnosed and treated early. Hypercalciuria is the most frequent cause of childhood lithiasis, but there are other metabolic alterations involved that should be ruled out.
