Abstract
Alcohol use in adolescence is an important public health problem in Spain and in all Western countries. Adolescence is the stage of life in which the individual goes from the physical and emotional dependence of childhood to adult independence. The teen eventually face the dilemma of consumption; this situation occurs in our environment between 13 and 14 years.
This article addresses the problem in general of alcohol consumption in adolescence: prevalence, risk and preventive interventions in the family and in the health care system.
