Abstract

Erythema infectiosum is a common viral exanthem caused by parvovirus B19, commonly seen in children. Clinical manifestations consist of non-specific symptoms such as low-grade fever and slight discomfort, accompanied by malar erythema and symmetrical reticulated rash on the extremities and trunk.

In the presence of intense nocturnal plantar itching in children who have presented a rash in the previous days, parvovirus B19 infection should be taken into account.
