Abstract

Kleine-Levin syndrome is a rare disease characterized by recurrent episodes of hypersomnia and cognitive and behavioral alterations. 13-year-old woman who, after influenza A, presents disorientation, incoherent speech, bradypsychia, behavioral alteration, sleep and apathy. There were no previous traumas or toxic ingestion. Kleine-Levin syndrome or “sleeping beauty” has an unknown cause and a good prognosis with progressive disappearance with age. There is no curative treatment, but corticosteroids have been used in episodes and preventive treatments such as lithium and modafinil.
