Abstract
The increase of diagnoses of some particular category of mental disorders in children should lead us to review the context in which it occurs. The most important step is to check and to update the diagnostic criteria to evaluate its reliability and its elevancy at the time of diagnosis. It is more important if there is no specific test for diagnosis and this is based on clinical criteria. This is the case in the disorder that we propose in the present article: attention deficit disorders with hyperactivity. In case of the attention deficit disorders with hyperactivity one comes observing a overdiagnostic due to a lax application of the clinical criteria for the diagnosis, which decreases the reliability of the diagnosis, since the basic symptoms are completely non-specific and can be found in other disorders and may even be present in some stages of normal development. We elaborate flow-charts for the diagnosis of the process, with great utility for the pediatrician and healthcare professionals, especially in Primary Care.
