Abstract

This paper takes into consideration the importance of recognising the caries lesions and these as infection in order to establish in a practical way what is the best treatment with fluoride based on scientific evidence. At present and in our environment are best valuated the prevention with topical fluoride rather than the systemic one. Prevention should take into account the odontopaediatric patient typology. Fluoride prevention shouldn?t be made without considering the treatment with sealants in grooves and pits.
