Abstract

We present a case of severe anaemia in a 24 months old boy. The child had a very important iron deficiency in relation to a nutritional problem: mainly an early intake of cow milk. We did not find any other pathology. Iron deficiency in the developed world is mainly a ?single? nutritional problem. Often co-exists with other conditions such as folate deficiency, and infection. Health education, and familiar nutritional knowledge are basic for prevention of iron deficiency during infancy and childhood.
