Abstract

In-hospital neonatal falls are uncommon but potentially serious. We report the case of a newborn who fell from the mother’s bed in the maternity ward of a public tertiary hospital in Madrid, subsequently being diagnosed with a parietal skull fracture. Preventive measures for these “potentially avoidable events” in maternity settings are discussed, as well as the indications for neuroimaging in asymptomatic neonates.
