Abstract

Authors’ conclusions: parental immigrant status increases some perinatal risks. These risks vary depending on the immigration category of the progenitors (family reunion, economic or refugee).

Reviewers’ commentary: the risk of perinatal adverse outcomes is greater in infants born to immigrant mothers compared to the native population and highest in the refugee group. These differences must be taken into account to provide adequate health care and social services to these families.
