Abstract

Currently, primary care pediatrics faces different challenges and difficulties that put the care of part of the pediatric population in our country at risk. In rural areas, these general difficulties of primary care are added to those linked to the geographical dispersion of the population and distance from reference hospitals. Various initiatives have emerged in recent years to try to alleviate this problem, with greater or lesser success. In this article we present Pediatria dels Pirineus project, an innovative model designed for comprehensive pediatric care in a rural environment such as the western Catalan Pyrenees.
