Abstract
Erythema infectiosum is a common viral exanthem caused by parvovirus B19 commonly seen in children. It manifests with nonspecific symptoms, such as low-grade fever and slight discomfort, accompanied by malar rush and a symmetrical reticular eruption on the extremities and trunk.
Parvovirus B19 infection should be considered in the presence of intense nocturnal plantar itching in children who have had a rash in the past few days.
