Abstract
Juvenile myasthenia gravis is a rare disease in the paediatric age group caused by specific autoantibodies targeting proteins of the neuromuscular junction, with isolated ocular or generalized manifestations that improve with rest. The diagnosis is clinical, but it is confirmed by the presence of specific antibodies or abnormalities in nerve conduction. The management combines symptomatic treatment, immunosuppressants and, in some cases, thymectomy.
