Abstract

Odontogenic cysts appear in the maxilla or mandible and are generated by the proliferation of epithelial remains stimulated by periodontitis. They are uncommon in children. They do not usually give symptoms and the diagnosis is casual radiographic. The evolution of the periapical cyst is usually slow, but tends to destroy the adjacent bone, so it usually requires endodontic treatment. We describe a clinical case that had an unusual presentation.
