Abstract

We present the case of a newborn with no perinatal history of interest who presented a spontaneous and painless tumor in the proximal third of the umbilical cord 2 x 3 x 2 cm in size, purplish in color and soft in consistency, clinically and sonographically compatible with hematoma of the umbilical cord. It presents a favorable evolution with thrombosis of the hematoma after double clamping, without active bleeding and with a progressive decrease in size. Omphalorhexis at five days of life.
