Lesion in the sole of the foot: what could it be?

Foreign body injuries are common in the paediatric age group. However, instances in which a hair strand becomes a foreign body are rare, with few clinical cases reported in the past. Cutaneous pili migrans is defined as a lesion caused by a hair embedded in the epidermis, and it manifests as a linear, dark and often serpiginous eruption with an erythematous surface, for which it is frequently confused with other conditions, such as larva migrans or scabies. We report a case in a girl aged 3 years who presented with a lesion in the sole of the foot that was asymptomatic and had appeared recently.
