Abstract

The study presents two cases of encopretic children resistant to standard treatment (continence training techniques). Learning disabilities were diagnosed during follow-up. Adding specific logopaedic therapy and behavioural techniques improved control over eliminatory functions. The study recommends the use of conducted anamnestic inquiry to search for learning disorders on encopretic children, especially on those with normal intelligence, more likely to be unperceived. Individuals with suggestive anamnesis should be performed cognitive test.
