Abstract

Rheumatic diseases in childhood are rare but could be potentially serious. This forces us to recognize them as soon as possible to put the appropriate treatment to improve prognosis.

This article gives us the keys to how to approach suspected rheumatic disease in children in Primary Care.

We pay special attention to the most defining characteristics in the three basic milestones of diagnosis: history, physical examination and laboratory tests.

The objective is to get the skills to recognize childhood rheumatologic processes in Primary Care. This article will be a useful guide to facilitate the evaluation of rheumatic diseases for physicians caring for children in primary care.
