Abstract

Foundation: The increase in the consumption of alcohol observed in young people. Material and methods: Retrospective review of children under the age of fifteen who have been hospitalised in our service over the last five years for alcohol poisoning. Conclusions: We did not find any trend in the increase of the admission in our sample. We did not establish any differences with regard to the sex. We did not find any seasonal differences. The majority of cases happened at the weekened and in public establishments. In none of the cases the youths were accompanied by friends when admitted. We did not find any case of hypoglycaemia.
